QUICK GUIDE

Dash is a new and immersive approach to world building.
Let’s take a look at the creative process with Dash!
(Work in progress)

Converting Actions

To Pipe

Converts the selected curves to pipes with one click. Perfect you want pipe meshes on very specific places and in very specific shapes, especially since it is so easy to draw nice splines in Dash. Once you have created the pipe, you can adjust it however you see fit in the Quick Pipe tool that automatically opens.

Convert Instances to Foliage

Converts the selected actor(s) instanced static mesh components to foliage. I.e. if you for example have scattered some grass on an terrain, using this conversion will break the tool connection with Surface Scatter, but it will let you continue the changing the grass with the foliage painting tool in Unreal Engine. This could be a good workflow if you quickly want to fill a scene with grass and adjust it with some basic masks and then in the end need to remove or add a little bit more grass in some places.

Merge actors

Creates one static mesh from a selection of several. If you for example have scattered a few assets with Surface Scatter or placed a few actors with the Physics Tool, you can use Merge Actors to create a new combined mesh.

Procedural to Static Meshes

Convert procedural meshes to static meshes. If the custom mesh type of Dash is not working for your given workflow or if you want to share the mesh/UE scene to someone that does not have Dash installed, you can convert the mesh to a static mesh. It can also be good for performance!

Transfer Vertex Colors

Transfers the vertex colors from the first selection to the others if possible.
